The Outbound Tour Operators Association of India (OTOAI) proudly showcased India’s MICE potential at the second edition of the Meet Global MICE Congress (MGMC) in Moscow. Themed “Global Challenges and Trends of the MICE Industry: Towards Sustainable Development through the Prism of Experience and Knowledge of BRICS Countries and the Global South,” the event drew over 1,300 participants from the global business tourism sector.

Led by President Himanshu Kesari Patil, the OTOAI delegation included Vice President Shravan Bhalla, General Secretary Siddhartha Khanna, Past President Riaz Munshi, and EC Member ADL Abdul Karim. Their participation emphasised India’s growing role in the MICE sector and strengthened ties with global stakeholders, reinforcing the country’s international presence in business tourism.

MGMC 2024 hosted 13 expert-led business sessions featuring over 50 global speakers, covering key topics such as advancements in congress infrastructure and the use of technologies like big data and artificial intelligence. The event also facilitated more than 2,000 B2B meetings, providing OTOAI representatives with opportunities to connect, explore new markets, and deepen relationships within the BRICS and global MICE community.

Cultural initiatives like Made in Moscow and Moscow Tea Time highlighted cross-cultural synergies, fostering collaboration and showcasing evolving trends in the MICE industry. As Moscow cements its reputation as a business tourism hub, MGMC 2024 solidified its status as a vital platform for global leaders to tackle industry challenges and explore sustainable opportunities.
