The opening of Shivamogga Airport in Karnataka, built on public-private partnership mode, has been delayed to August 31 to accommodate further logistical and security implementations.
Initially set for the 11th, the inauguration has been pushed back at the behest of the Director General of Civil Aviation’s withdrawal of the Bomb Threat Contingency Plan’s no-objection certificate on July 18. Prime Minister Modi visited the site and approved the progress and commencement of commercial operations in February.
