Odisha to get more direct flights

The Odisha government has announced the launch of new direct flight services connecting Bhubaneswar’s Veer Surendra Sai Airport to additional cities starting January 2025. This initiative aims to enhance connectivity and boost tourism, trade, and economic growth in the region. The Chief Minister’s Office shared the news on X, highlighting the state’s commitment to improving its air travel infrastructure.

The new routes are expected to significantly reduce travel time and foster easier access to Odisha’s cultural and business hubs. Officials emphasised that these flights will cater to both domestic travellers and international tourists, offering a seamless travel experience. The move aligns with the state’s broader development goals.

In addition to increased connectivity, this initiative is projected to attract investment and promote Odisha as a destination for business and leisure. Improved accessibility to remote cities will benefit local communities and industries.

With this expansion, Odisha continues to strengthen its aviation network, fostering regional development while offering travellers more options for exploring the state’s diverse attractions.
