Minister Riyas: KTM boosts Kerala tourism

Kerala Travel Mart (KTM) plays a crucial role in boosting Kerala’s tourism, particularly in the post-Covid era, as stated by Tourism and Public Works Minister PA Mohamed Riyas. Speaking at the inauguration of KTM’s 12th edition, held at Sagara and Samudrika Convention Center, Kochi, he highlighted Kerala’s record domestic tourist arrivals over the past two years and how KTM will further accelerate this trend.

The Minister also emphasised the success of Kerala Tourism’s recent campaign, “Ente Keralam Ennum Sundaram,” which showcases the state’s beauty and diversity. He stated that the campaign, alongside KTM, will attract more tourists this season. With 2,035 domestic and 804 international buyers from 76 countries, this edition is set to be the most successful yet in terms of buyer engagement.

KTM provides a platform for sellers to exhibit unique tourism products, ranging from hotels to adventure activities, aiming to increase tourist bookings and arrivals. The event features stalls from various organisations, including the Kerala Responsible Tourism Mission Society, Kerala Tourism Development Corporation, and tourism representatives from neighbouring states. Minister Riyas actively engaged with exhibitors, exploring the stalls and even participating in activities like pottery making.

The expo will run until September 29, featuring 347 stalls, seminars, and business meetings with national and international experts. On Sunday, the mart will be open to the public, marking 25 years since the formation of the KTM Society.
