The 11th edition of Kerala Travel Mart (KTM) will now be held from May 5-8, 2022 in Kochi. Earlier it was scheduled from March 24-27. The new date was announced at a virtual press meet today. Announcing the date Dr. V Venu, IAS, Additional Chief Secretary, Kerala Tourism said that KTM has emerged as the biggest travel mart in the country. “KTM is the finest example of a public-private partnership model,” he said.
Giving reasons for postponement of KTM, he said that Covid has not subsided yet, but there are signs of optimism across the world including, India. “Even most airline companies are operating in curtailed services. Taking everything into account, we have decided to postpone the event. We want to ensure that those who have already expressed their participation in the mart can do so. 1,100 travel partners have already registered for the event,” Dr. Venu said. He also expressed confidence that the 11th edition of KTM will be successful.
Like earlier additions, the 11th edition of KTM will showcase many new products. This time Caravan tourism will be highlighted in a big way. Besides this, it will be a paperless KTM. The event will take place at the Sagara and Samudrika Convention Centre in Kochi. However, the organisers will announce the inaugural venue later on.
