Kempegowda Airport crosses 40 mn annual passengers

Bengaluru’s Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) made history in 2024 by crossing the remarkable milestone of 40 million annual passengers. For the first time, the airport served 40.73 million travellers in a single year, showcasing its growing prominence as a key aviation hub in India and beyond.

The airport’s achievement propelled it into the prestigious ‘Large Airport’ category, as recognised by the Airports Council International (ACI). This recognition places KIA among global leaders in air travel, highlighting its operational efficiency and infrastructure capable of handling high passenger volumes.

KIA’s expansion and focus on delivering world-class facilities have played a critical role in this accomplishment. With two terminals, the airport has consistently invested in modern technology, enhanced connectivity, and premium services to provide a seamless travel experience.

As a gateway to South India, KIA’s growth reflects the rising demand for air travel in the region. It reinforces Bengaluru’s position as a global city, fostering tourism, trade, and economic development.
