Indian Hotels Company to open new Taj hotel in Panchkula

Indian Hotels Company (IHCL) has announced the signing of a new Taj hotel in Panchkula, Haryana. This greenfield project aims to meet the rising demand in the tricity area of Panchkula, Mohali, and Chandigarh.

Suma Venkatesh, Executive Vice President – Real Estate & Development at IHCL, remarked, “The signing of a Taj hotel in Panchkula, one of Haryana’s leading cities, aligns with our strategy to strengthen IHCL’s presence in the region. Its proximity to Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand will help create a new travel circuit. We are delighted to partner with Kuldeep Singh Makkar on this venture.”

The hotel, spanning two acres in the HSIIDC IT park of Panchkula, will feature 150 spacious guest rooms with panoramic views of the Ghagghar River and Panchkula Golf Course. Dining options will include an all-day dining restaurant, a specialty restaurant, a bar, and a lobby lounge. The hotel will also house the city’s largest banqueting hall at 10,000 square feet, making it ideal for business conferences and social events. Guests can enjoy extensive recreation facilities, such as a swimming pool, a fully equipped gym, a health club, and IHCL’s holistic wellness offering, the J Wellness Circle.

Kuldeep Singh Makkar commented, “We are honored to partner with IHCL to bring the iconic Taj brand to Panchkula. We believe this hotel will significantly enhance the regional tourism landscape.”

Panchkula, a planned city in Haryana and a satellite city of the Union Territory of Chandigarh, is located at the foothills of the Shivalik range. It serves as a base for exploring the revered Mansa Devi Temple and Gurudwara Nada Sahib.

With this addition, IHCL will have six hotels in Haryana under the Taj, Vivanta, Gateway, and Ginger brands, including two currently under development.
