The Adventure Tour Operators Association of India (ATOAI) will host its 16th Annual Adventure Convention in Tawang, Arunachal Pradesh, from December 3 to 8, 2024. This six-day event will bring together adventure tourism professionals to highlight Arunachal’s potential as India’s next premier adventure destination.
Keynote speakers, including Chief Minister Pema Khandu and Tourism Minister P D Sona, will emphasise the state’s untapped potential and the importance of sustainable tourism. The convention will feature panel discussions, awards, and FAM trips showcasing Arunachal’s stunning landscapes.
In addition, a pre-convention guide training program in Itanagar will enhance local capacity in the adventure tourism sector. The unveiling of ATOAI’s roadmap for Arunachal will further boost investment opportunities in the region.
The event will also focus on responsible tourism, with a net-zero environmental goal. Delegates will visit significant border sites like Bumla Pass and NIMAS in Dirang, setting new standards for sustainable, community-driven adventure tourism.
