Akasa Air has announced the appointment of Belson Coutinho as its Chief Operating Officer, effective January 6, 2025. Belson will oversee Akasa Air’s key operational functions as the airline works toward its goal of becoming one of the top 30 airlines globally by the end of the decade.
In his new role, Belson will manage Inflight Services, Airport Services, Maintenance & Engineering, Flight Operations, IOCC, Operational Excellence, and lead the Akasa Air Learning Academy. With over two decades of aviation experience, Belson brings extensive expertise in operations, strategy, and leadership, having delivered several industry-first initiatives in Indian aviation.

Belson, a founding member of Akasa Air’s executive committee, previously served as Co-Founder and Chief Marketing & Experience Officer, where he played a pivotal role in shaping the airline’s vision and driving its unprecedented growth.
