TBM Staff - Hyderabad With a progressive mindset to merge the conventional and the contemporary, Girish Singh Chauhan has taken over the reigns as the Director of Engineering at The Westin Hyderabad Mindspace.
A professional who embarked on his career with the TATA Thermal Power Station Trombay, meandered to the hospitality industry beginning his journey with JW Marriott Mumbai Juhu. With over two decades of work experience, he has had the opportunity to travel and work pan India and globally.
His previous stint with Marriott International spanned for almost a decade from 2001-2010. It included Courtyard by Marriott Chennai and JW Marriott Mumbai Juhu. Some of his initiatives were implemented across JW Marriott Hotels during his cross-training exposure at JW Marriott Hotels in South Korea and Bangkok.
Over the past decade, he has been affiliated with the Hyatt Group of Hotels. He was the Director of Engineering for Hyatt Regency Kolkata and Hyatt Regency Ahmedabad. His last appointment was at the Grand Hyatt Muscat where he was responsible for the overall operations of the department. In addition, he also assisted in the pre-opening of Alila Hinu Bay, Oman working closely with the regional project team of Hyatt.
Girish has been known for his exemplary knowledge in the field of engineering. His proactive approach in introducing new initiatives and sustainability-driven projects are among his professional strengths. His ability to integrate changes in energy reduction, water consumption, reducing wastage and so on across properties has complemented in promoting a sustainable environment.
His technical knowledge in the domain is impeccable. Multiple training and certifications in Intelligent Fire Alarm Systems, Energy Conservation, Steam Engineering, Safety Standard and Advanced First Aid Care, only add to his knowledge bouquet.
