IndiGo to start direct flights from Mangaluru, Coimbatore & Tiruchirappalli to Abu Dhabi

IndiGo will launch direct flights from Mangaluru, Coimbatore, and Tiruchirappalli to Abu Dhabi.

The flights on the Abu Dhabi to Mangaluru route will operate daily, from August 9, and the Tiruchirappalli to Abu Dhabi will operate four times a week, starting from August 11. Starting from August 10, the direct flights from Coimbatore will operate thrice weekly.

Vinay Malhotra, Head of Global Sales at IndiGo, said, “With the addition of these flights, IndiGo now operates 89 non-stop flights a week to Abu Dhabi from 13 cities in India. These flights will provide smooth and convenient options for business as well as leisure travel to the UAE and further add to the gateways for travellers to explore the wonderful island city and beyond.”

 

AirAsia to start Kuala Lumpur-Ahmedabad direct flights from May 1

Expanding its India network, AirAsia is set to connect Kuala Lumpur with Ahmedabad.

This new route, set to take flight on May 1, 2024, will add to the airline’s rapidly growing connectivity to Malaysia, marking AirAsia’s 11th route from India, and third new route in 2024 alone. This will also serve as AirAsia’s first step into the state of Gujarat from Malaysia, further cementing its foothold in South Asia.

To celebrate this milestone, AirAsia is offering promotional fares for travellers from Ahmedabad wishing to explore Kuala Lumpur. One can fly from only INR7,999 to the Malaysian city and from just RM209 from Kuala Lumpur to Ahmedabad while booking till 28 January 2024 for travel between May 1, 2024 till March 19, 2025 on the airasia Superapp or www.airasia.com.

Come February 2024, AirAsia will be commencing flights from Kerala, making it the second direct route from the state after Kochi followed by Jaipur in April and Ahmedabad in May.

 

AirAsia offers limited time fare of INR 4,999 one-way for bookings from South Indian to Kuala Lumpur

AirAsia is celebrating the recent announcement of visa-free travel from India to Malaysia with special promotional fares for a limited time only to Kuala Lumpur from all the southern Indian routes within its network.

From now till December 24, 2024, flights can be booked from seven destinations in South India within AirAsia’s network for a special promotional price. Fly to Kuala Lumpur from Chennai, Tiruchirappalli, Kochi, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Kolkata and soon Trivandrum for only INR 4,999, all-inclusive one-way. From Malaysia, Indian travellers can further explore the airline’s network of more than 130 destinations in 22 countries through its seamless ‘Fly-Through’ options. AirAsia has already announced route launch to Thiruvananthapuram (starting February 21, 2024) and special fares to Malaysia from India. This is in addition to AirAsia’s announcement of a significant increase in services between the two countries, totalling an 69 weekly flights starting in the first quarter of 2024, with up to 1.5 million seats per year.

With visa-free entry for Indians, AirAsia adds 1.5mn seats between India & Malaysia

AirAsia announced a significant service increase between Malaysia and India, totalling a 69 weekly flights starting in the first quarter of 2024, with up to 1.5 million seats per year.

The significant increase in capacity comes in response to the anticipated surge in travel demand following the Malaysian government’s announcement of a 30-day visa-free entry for travellers from India into Malaysia starting today.

The announcement also coincides with the recent announcement by the governments of Thailand and Vietnam of a visa-free entry initiative for visitors from India to these countries. This enables Indian travellers to explore other ASEAN nations affordably via AirAsia’s Fly-Thru service with a one-stop in Kuala Lumpur and connect to Bangkok, Phuket, Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh, Sydney, Melbourne, Perth and more seamlessly.

Vietjet runs Black Friday Deals for one-way tickets at INR 5,555

Vietjet has announced its exclusive Black Friday promotion, offering deals from India to Vietnam. With this limited time offer, travellers can secure all-in one-way tickets for just INR 5,555*.

The Black Friday promotion runs from November 22 to November 28, the travel period for these discounted tickets extends from January 1 to October 31, 2024. In addition to the slashed ticket prices, travellers booking international flights will also receive an e-voucher worth VND 200,000 (approx. INR 686) by visiting the airline website. Furthermore, Vietjet is extending a 30% discount on duty-free shopping for passengers.

The airline is now also offering the most flights on the largest network connecting India with Vietnam. It operates a total of 35 weekly round-trip flights, establishing a direct connection between five key Indian cities – New Delhi, Mumbai, Ahmadabad, Kochi, and Tiruchirappalli – and the Vietnamese cities of Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.
Vietjet has been operating for over a decade with around 450 flights daily across 125 routes connecting Vietnam with other countries across Asia and Australia. The airline’s international network includes destinations in India, Australia, Northeast Asia (Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong and mainland China), Southeast Asia and Kazakhstan.

 

SIA to complete merger of Vistara-AI at the earliest

Singapore Airlines has said it aims to complete the merger of Vistara with Air India “as soon as possible” subject to remaining approvals from relevant authorities.

Once the proposed merger, which was approved by the Competition Commission of India (CCI) on September 1, is complete, Singapore Airlines will have a 25.1 per cent stake in Air India.

Vistara is a joint venture in which Singapore Airlines has a 49 per cent stake, while the rest is with the Tatas.
Singapore Airlines and Air India have given certain commitments to the CCI to address the competition concerns arising out of the merger.

In a statement on Tuesday, Singapore Airlines welcomed the CCI’s approval of the merger and said the airline as well as Scoot will follow the commitments.

Scoot is a part of the Singapore Airlines group.

“Singapore Airlines continues to work with our partner Tata Sons and aims to complete the merger as soon as possible, subject to the remaining approvals from the relevant authorities,” an airline spokesperson said in an e-mailed statement.

Air India and Singapore Airlines have committed to maintain minimum capacity/ supply level in relation to certain overlapping O&D (Origin & Destination) pairs between India and Singapore — Delhi-Singapore, Mumbai-Singapore, Tiruchirappalli-Singapore and Chennai-Singapore, as per the CCI order.
