Sentosa Development Corporation (SDC) and STIC Travel Group have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to promote Sentosa as a sustainable destination in the Indian market. This one-year partnership focuses on designing innovative educational experiences for Indian students, emphasising sustainability through immersive learning opportunities. Key themes include the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals, carbon footprint reduction, and biodiversity conservation.
The partnership will launch “Unchartered Sentosa,” an interactive sustainability tour for Indian students, starting in November 2024. Activities will include intertidal marine explorations, guided nature walks, workshops, and eco-friendly attractions, fostering environmental stewardship. This initiative aims to inspire students to become advocates for sustainability in their communities.
The collaboration aligns with STIC Travel Group’s mission to enhance educational tourism and Sentosa’s commitment to sustainable practices. Through this partnership, Sentosa will strengthen its reputation as a hub for eco-conscious tourism, providing practical knowledge and unique experiences for students.
The MoU, signed at ITB Asia 2024, is expected to boost tourism from India, with a focus on the educational travel segment, encouraging longer, meaningful stays on Sentosa.
