Thai AirAsia X (XJ) is set to connect India and Thailand with new direct flights from Delhi to Don Mueang Airport in Bangkok starting December 15, 2024. The flights, priced from just 7,990 INR per trip, are available for booking until November 24, 2024, for travel through March 26, 2025. Tickets can be booked via airasia.com, the AirAsia MOVE app, or your preferred travel partner.
With the Fly Thru service, travellers from Delhi can seamlessly connect via Don Mueang Airport to domestic destinations like Chiang Mai and Phuket or international locations such as Sydney and Shanghai. Fly Thru ensures passengers pass through immigration and retrieve their luggage only at their final destination, simplifying the journey.
Tassapon Bijleveld, CEO, Thai AirAsia X, highlighted the significance of the new route, emphasising its role in strengthening ties between India and Thailand. “Bangkok remains a favorite destination for Indian travelers, who ranked as the third-largest group of visitors to Thailand in 2024. By offering affordable, convenient travel, we aim to boost tourism, trade, and economic connections,” he said.
Starting with twice-weekly flights on Wednesdays and Sundays, the frequency will increase to four times a week from January 15, 2025. The Delhi-Don Mueang route will be operated by Airbus A330 aircraft, with flight XJ231 departing Delhi at 17:05 and arriving in Don Mueang at 22:50. The return flight, XJ230, will leave Don Mueang at 12:45 and reach Delhi by 15:50.
