TAAI announces national elections & AGM on September 29

The Travel Agents Association of India (TAAI) has announced the schedule for its national elections at the 71st Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the association on September 29 at 11.30 AM.

The process to elect the new Managing Committee and Office Bearers for the two-year term 2022-24 will take place from 11:30 am at ITC Maratha hotel in Mumbai. Sharing the information with its members in an official circular, TAAI announced that nominations for the various positions can be filed by September 15 while the last date for withdrawing nominations is September 23. The list/details of nominations received shall be updated to the membership on or before September 16 by email, read the circular. During the AGM, the Managing Committee’s report for the year 2021-22 will also be adopted along with adoption of the Annual Audited Accounts of the association for the year ended on March 31, 2022. At the same time, auditors for the financial year 2022-23 will be appointed as well while fixing their remuneration.

The term of the current team started in 2019 with Jyoti Mayal being the President President from the past three years. Jay Bhatia is the Vice President, while Bettaiah Lokesh and Shreeram Patel are Honorary Secretary General and Honorary Treasurer respectively. The association has more than 2,300 members spread across the parts of the country. TAAI recently organised its 66 th Convention on a cruise in Singapore with attendance of over 300 delegates. The event was a resounding success with planning and execution being completed in just 12 days. President Mayal complimented the current team for working unitedly for the betterment of the membership and travel trade in- spite of challenges and adversaries faced due to Covid-19 pandemic in her tenure. She also thanked members for their support. Till now, the current team has not received any opposition for contest, which indicates possibility of unanimous re-election of office bears and MC members.
