Atmosphere Appoints Cyrus Madan as Senior Vice President – Business Development India, Sri Lanka, Bhutan and Nepal

Atmosphere Hotels & Resorts (AH&R) announced the appointment of Cyrus Madan as Senior Vice President – Business Development India, Sri Lanka, Bhutan and Nepal. The newly created role ensures dedicated leadership and focus on the Indian Subcontinent, as AH&R gears up for the next chapter of international growth.

With more than 25 years of hospitality experience, Cyrus Madan brings a wealth of domain expertise in working with brands, acquisitions (both land and hotels), hotel pre-openings and operationalising hotels. He will be based in India and report to Souvagya Mohapatra, the company’s Managing Director for India, Sri Lanka, Nepal and Bhutan.

Cyrus comes to AH&R from Lemon Tree Hotels where he served as Senior Vice-President for Business Development and COO – Carnation Hotels.

Cyrus spent 18 years with Lemon Tree Hotels. He played a key role in growing the company’s Asset Light Model. As Chief Operating Officer of Carnation Hotels (Lemon Tree’s managed hotels portfolio), he took the brand international – negotiating and signing management contracts in Dubai, Nepal and Bhutan.

Over the last 9 years, Cyrus has individually sourced and contracted 60+ hotel projects. He’s well versed in management contract negotiations, owner relationship management, asset management and managed hotel operations. In addition to experience in the management contract business, Cyrus has a proven track record of successfully handling acquisitions. During his tenure at Lemon Tree, he also pre-opened multiple hotel projects (20+) pan India and one in Dubai.
Cyrus started his professional journey with the Taj Group of Hotels as a management trainee in 1995. He holds a Bachelor of Hotel Management degree from Mangalore University (Welcomgroup Graduate School of Hotel Administration).
