Nepal Tourism Board has picked Deepak Raj Joshi as the CEO. Earlier, he served in this post from December 2015 to January 2020.
Earlier, a three-member subcommittee, tasked with selecting the board’s executive chief,and headed by Indu Ghimire, joint secretary of the ministry of culture, tourism, and civil aviation, had shortlisted three candidates – Deepak Raj Joshi, Dhananjay Regmi, and Gyaneshwar Singh Mahato – from the final pool of 14 applicants.
The Thursday’s meeting of the board of directors of the tourism board decided to appoint Joshi as the new CEO.
Following the completion of the tenure of the previous CEO, Dhananjay Regmi, on January 28, the Board had been without a CEO. To fill this position, the Board, led by then-tourism secretary Dipak Kafle, had announced a call for applications on April 6. Applicants were required to have at least 10 years of experience in the tourism sector and a postgraduate degree. The Board employs a total of 64 staff members.
