The Hotel and Restaurant Association (Western India) – HRAWI has lauded the Maharashtra Government for its forward-thinking INR 350 crore initiative aimed at boosting tourism in Vidarbha. This comprehensive plan, with a focus on infrastructure, employment, and elevating visitor experiences, underscores the government’s dedication to positioning Maharashtra as a nature-centric travel hub. The initiative includes the development of a tourism circuit integrating forest and water tourism, with a significant emphasis on the Ambhora Bridge. This project is set to offer tourists a panoramic view of the region, augmenting Vidarbha’s allure as a tourist destination. Furthermore, the introduction of a light and sound show is anticipated to attract a larger number of visitors, contributing to the region’s economic growth.

The INR.350 crore development plan includes an allocation of INR 100 crore to Bhandara district and INR .250 crore to Nagpur district. The initiative is a progressive step towards realising the full potential of Maharashtra as a diverse and enriching tourism hub. The plan’s emphasis on facilities, employment generation and visitor experience enhancement, is expected to have a positive impact on the hospitality industry.
