In a significant prelude to the forthcoming Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit, a series of Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) totalling over INR 770 crore were sealed at the 15th Annual Adventure Tourism Convention 2023 organised by the Adventure Tour Operators Association of India (ATOAI).
The convention, being held at the iconic Statue of Unity in Ekta Nagar and supported by the Tourism Corporation of Gujarat, witnessed key stakeholders converging to propel the state’s tourism sector to new heights.
ATOAI President Ajeet Bajaj, during the welcome address, unveiled collaborative efforts with the Bureau of Tourism aimed at refining adventure tourism guidelines across the nation. This strategic partnership seeks to enhance the overall landscape of adventure tourism in the country.
Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh, Pema Khandu, delivered a comprehensive overview of the state’s attractions and recent developmental strides. Emphasising the abundance of adventure tourism possibilities in Arunachal Pradesh and the broader Northeastern region, he commended Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s initiatives, including ‘Dekho Apna Desh,‘ for catalysing tourism growth in India. Khandu expressed the aspiration to develop vibrant villages as part of a sustainable tourism model.
Gujarat Minister of Tourism Mulubhai Bera and Secretary of Tourism, Government of Gujarat, Hareet Shukla, also shared their insights during the event, underscoring the state’s commitment to fostering tourism.
The day-long convention featured a series of keynote addresses, panel discussions, and experiential insights on Adventure Tourism. Dignitaries from both Central and State Governments, industry leaders, and experts engaged in discussions on the industry’s growth trajectory and future prospects.
As Gujarat positions itself as a thriving hub for adventure tourism, these strategic collaborations are poised to bring about transformative developments in the state’s tourism landscape.
