The Assam government has distributed sanction letters to 34 tea gardens as part of the second phase of its Tea Tourism Development Scheme. The initiative aims to promote tea tourism in Assam by leveraging the state’s rich tea heritage.
The letters were handed out by Assam Tourism Minister Jayanta Mallabaruah.
“Today, I had the pleasure of distributing sanction letters to 34 selected tea gardens under Phase II of the Assam Tea Tourism Development Scheme,” Minister Mallabaruah announced on X. He noted that this move marks a significant step toward transforming Assam into a world-class tea tourism destination.
Meanwhile, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma recently highlighted the state’s efforts to position itself as a prime investment destination.
The state has seen considerable advancements in its business environment, demonstrating the government’s commitment to fostering industrial growth. “With investor-friendly initiatives and a customised industrial policy, Assam is fast becoming a preferred investment destination,” Sarma posted on social media. “We are constantly engaging with industries to further develop the industrial ecosystem in Assam.”
