Akasa Air launches Mumbai-Riyadh route, expanding its international presence

 

Akasa Air has commenced operations in Riyadh, the capital of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, with daily direct flights connecting Mumbai. The inaugural flight departed Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport in Mumbai at 2220 hrs IST and is scheduled to arrive at King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh at 0015 hrs AST.

The launch of flights to Riyadh marks the airline’s second destination in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and strengthens its presence in the region. The city is a rapidly growing financial center and a popular destination for business and MICE travellers. Praveen Iyer, Co-Founder and CCO, Akasa Air, lit a ceremonial lamp to flag off the maiden flight.
Neelu Khatri, Co-Founder and SVP International, Akasa Air commented on the destination launch, stating that the city’s flourishing trade prospects and dynamic tourist attractions have made it an increasingly popular destination for Indian travellers. Belson Coutinho, Co-Founder and Chief Marketing and Experience Officer, Akasa Air, added that the airline is excited to extend its signature experience to Riyadh, offering a warm and efficient flying experience with diverse culinary options and enhanced comfort.
