UNIGLOBE eyes gap in the industry and scalability through its ecosystem

UNIGLOBE Travel offices from across South Asia met for a collaborative and insightful two-day meeting at Aerocity, New Delhi to form basis of the business travel services. UNIGLOBE ecosystem, industry trends, opportunities and learning from top industry stars such as Ankur Bhatia, Managing Director, Amadeus India was the focus of the meet.

“We believe there is a distinct gap in the industry that exists between the fulfillment service offered by large players and the consultative approach offered by owner operated agencies. The gap is the absence of a consultative experience that is truly scalable. This is where owner operated agencies struggle and this is also where the biggest opportunity lies, “opened Ritika Modi, Regional President, UNIGLOBE Travel South Asia.

“The UNIGLOBE ecosystem is the answer to this gap in in the industry. Our ecosystem is one of its kind which creates an open & interconnected community between its members, suppliers and customers. This allows member agencies to build scalability, sustainability and relevance in an environment rife with rapid changes in airline distribution models and a spate of acquisitions. Our Ecosystem provides strength and safety in numbers as well as agility needed to make the most of industry changes” added Ritika.

“These meetings are an integral part of the UNIGLOBE culture. This is a superb opportunity for more and more agencies to join the UNIGLOBE Ecosystem and grow. The concept of building a consulting service that is scalable beyond just the Owner of the business is a huge priority for all agencies,” added Paras Lakhia, Owner & President, UNIGLOBE Utopia Travel & UNIGLOBE Franchise Owners Association.

An important highlight of the summit was the session by Bhatia where he spoke about the market landscape and the opportunities that lie ahead. In another session, J.S. Jassal, Managing Director, JRA & Associates, shared his learnings and experiences on building a profitable business setup with internal audit and corporate governance techniques and principles.
