Tourism New Zealand to host frontline training programmes in Bengaluru and New Delhi this week

Tourism New Zealand in order to expand its reach among the travel fraternity of India, along with its annual travel trade event, Kiwi Link India in Mumbai on July 9 and 10, 2018, will also organise the frontline training programme in Bengaluru and New Delhi on July 12 and 13 respectively. The launch of this initiative is said to be in line to the growth registered by Tourism New Zealand in terms of Indian arrivals from 33,000 to 66,000 in past four years.

Steven Dixon, Regional Manager - South and South East Asia, Tourism New Zealand said, "The total arrivals from India reached 66,320 recording 20.7% increase and holiday arrivals grew by 18.8% to 31,280. Indians prefer to travel to New Zealand in autumn and spring shoulder seasons, making it important for offsetting seasonality in New Zealand. Tourism New Zealand’s key target segment in India are independent professionals ranging from 25 to 54 years."

Kiwi Link India 2018 will see participation from a record 40 New Zealand operators, three airlines – Air New Zealand, Singapore Airlines and Thai Airways, Immigration New Zealand and 72 Indian delegates from 49 travel companies. More than 50 Indian participants are expected to attend the frontline training programme which will be conducted in the Bengaluru and New Delhi markets.

“The record number of New Zealand operators visiting India to participate in Kiwi Link this year is a real reflection on the value we place on the market. This event provides an opportunity for both new and experienced tourism operators to develop an alliance with vital travel decision makers, thus enabling them to drive sales out of India,” added Dixon.

Kiwi Link India serves as a platform for Indian travel agents, product managers and planners to interact with New Zealand operators and understand the new developments and market insights in the tourism sector.
