Maharashtra Tourism plans MTDC resorts in Ladakh, Kashmir

A day after Amit Shah, Union Home Minister announced the government's proposal to revoke Article 370 and Article 35A of the Constitution, which provided 'special status' to Jammu and Kashmir, the Maharashtra state government's Tourism department announced that they will come up with MTDC resorts in Kashmir and Ladakh.

A day after Union Home Minister Amit Shah announced the government's proposal to revoke Article 370 and Article 35A of the Constitution, which provided 'special status' to Jammu and Kashmir, the Maharashtra state government's Tourism department announced that they will come up with MTDC (Maharashtra Tourism development Corporation) resorts in Kashmir and Ladakh.

Jaykumar Rawal, Tourism Minister, Maharashtra while talking to India Today TV, said, "We plan to open MTDC resorts in Kashmir and Ladakh and will be buying property for the resorts as soon as the new L-G is appointed. We could buy an existing property in the Union Territories. The move by the government will open a new market in the state and we plan to expand."
