High on History
With one of the longest histories of any modern country, arising in the 10th millennium BC as one of the world’s first nation states, Egypt is a milestone when its comes to ancient civilization. Darshana Patil, Executive Director, Dreamz Holidays, agreed, “Egypt is an apt destination for someone interested in history. Most of the destinations in Egypt are of historical significance. From amongst its destinations, only Cairo has some touch of modernity. The locals are warm and welcoming, and very hospitable.”Varied Options
Apart from catering to history buffs in a big way, the African nation also offers other attractions that may be of interest to travellers. “For people looking out for a good time, Hurghada is an apt destination to be as it offers resort options. Also, cruising on the Nile River is advised to anyone who visits Egypt. We send a lot of travellers on Nile Cruise,” said Nirupama Parekh, Director, Travels & Rentals. She particularly liked the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, the library situated in Alexandria. “Do you know one can see the books in this library by using Internet, being miles away from the library?” exclaimed Parekh.Mass Appeal
“Egypt is an appealing destination. We visited a host of destinations such as Cairo, Luxor, Hurghada, Alexandria, etc, which I believe, the Indian travellers will find attractive. The country has a very European feel to it. The food options for vegetarians are limited,” said Munind Shah, Director, The Travel Planners.Pleasant Climate
“The country has, what can be called a traveller-friendly weather. Throughout our stay, the weather was pleasant and it was clubbed with the fascinating offerings of this African country,” stated Shreyanka Churiwala, Sales Executive, Nimbus Tours & Travels.
