MTDC’s Tarkarli Resort receives five-star rating for
scuba diving
The Professional Association of Diving Instructors (PADI) awarded Maharashtra
Tourism Development Corporation’s (MTDC) Tarkarli Resort as a five-star dive
resort for scuba diving in Maharashtra concerning the safety of tourists. Jaykumar
Rawal, Minister of Tourism & (EGS), Government of Maharashtra and Scuba divers
of MTDC Tarkarli Resorts received this award in the presence of Vijay Gautam, (IAS),
Principal Secretary, Department of Tourism and Culture, Government of Maharashtra
& MD, MTDC and Aashutosh Rathod, Jt. MD, MTDC and other MTDC officials.
Jet Airways inducts first of 150 Boeing 737
Max planes
Jet Airways took delivery of its first Boeing 737 MAX, making it the
first Indian carrier to fly the new 737 variants. This delivery marks
the first of 150 737 MAX airplanes the Mumbai-based airline has
ordered from Boeing, following two separate orders for 75 jets
placed in 2015 and earlier this year. The 737 MAX is the fastestselling
airplane in Boeing history, accumulating more than 4,500
orders from 99 customers worldwide
Clarence Fernandes receives Indo Global
Lifetime Achievement Award for promoting
investments & tourism in Rwanda
Clarence Fernandes, Chairman of Rwanda Renaissance, was
conferred with the ‘Indo Global Lifetime Achievement Award’ for
his contribution towards promoting investments and tourism into
Rwanda. At a glittering function, held at the Kohinoor Continental
Hotel, Mumbai, Prof. (Dr.) Aftab Anwar Shaikh, President, Indo
Global Chamber of Commerce, Industries and Agriculture,
commended the tremendous efforts which have been put in by
Fernandes in marketing Remarkable Rwanda here in India.
Bahrain Tourism & Exhibitions Authority hosts
FAM Trip for consolidators
Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA) organised a
consolidators’ familiarisation (FAM) trip to Bahrain. The authority
had arranged the FAM trip to showcase Bahrain’s famous tourist
attractions to help grow the country’s tourism industry. This year,
Bahrain is looking at the growth of about 46% tourists from India
in 2018. The Fam Trip also showcased new tourist attraction like
Jarada Islands, and the group was also taken to the new hotel
Jumeirah Royal Saray Bahrain as well for inspection.
Boeing, AIESL launch accelerated apprenticeship
programme
Boeing and Air India Engineering Services Limited (AIESL) inaugurated the
‘Air India- Boeing Accelerated Apprenticeship Program.’ The state-of-theart
‘smart’ classroom comes equipped with advanced training aids being
used for the first time in India, along with a specially customised curriculum
created by Boeing experts, to skill Aircraft Maintenance Engineers (AMEs)
in India. Students will be instructed by highly qualified Air India instructors
that have been trained by Boeing in the United States.
Women in Aviation International, Lockheed
Martin India celebrate Girls in Aviation Day
Women in Aviation International, India Chapter and Lockheed Martin
Corporation in association Airports Authority of India (AAI) celebrated
Girls in Aviation Day at Imphal Airport. With the vision to encourage
girls to take up STEM subjects and explore career opportunities in
related industries, Women in Aviation International (India Chapter)
invited 50 students from various schools for a tour of Imphal Airport.
Visiting students were given an opportunity to explore, learn, and
discover the various aspects of aviation and aerospace.
Zaheer Khan felicitated at the iconic Adelaide Oval
Former India pacer Zaheer Khan was felicitated by Adelaide Oval cricket
ground, during his visit to Australia with his wife Sagarika Ghatge. The
felicitation program was attended by Darren Chandler, General Manager
Marketing and Operations Adelaide Oval Stadium Management Authority,
Minister Ridgway and his wife Meredith, Rodney Harrex, CE South Australian
Tourism Commission and Raju Narayanan, Director of Indian Engagement for
Government of SA. Khan, who was honoured for his contribution to cricket,
spent the day at the stadium.
DreamFolks organises yoga session on
International Yoga Day
DreamFolks organised a yoga session on the occasion
of International Yoga Day within the vicinity of Spaze
Itech Park, Sohna Road Gurgaon. A Yoga Guru was
invited to teach the Yoga Asanas to the participants.
With the great enthusiasm, people from various
companies within the Spaze Itech park participated in
the event, recording around 100 participants.
