‘India among the fastest growing markets for SeaWorld Parks’

India is increasingly becoming an important source market for the US and its various cities and products. This was further vindicated when Visit Florida organised an event in Mumbai to intensify their trade engagement further. Speaking with TravelBiz Monitor on the sidelines of the event, Norbert Simon, Senior Market Manager, SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment, said, “Our theme parks, especially in Orlando have seen a sizeable growth of Indian visitors, year-on-year. This year from January to August, the number of Indian visitors doubled when compared with that of 2017 during the same period.”

Simon also said that India has emerged as one of the fastest growing market for them. “India stands as a one of the top 20 international source markets for SeaWorld Parks,” he said. When asked to comment how they promote the product in Indian market? Simon said that they are undertaking sales and marketing activities through their partners in India. “We are focusing on Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru and Chennai. However, we are observing that people from Tier-II cities have also started visiting our parks,” observed Simon.

He also said that from the total number of Indian visits to Florida, 75% of them visit SeaWorld Parks. Throwing light on travel trends, of late, SeaWorld has observed that the FIT (Free Individual Traveller) segment is growing at a faster pace. “The Indian market is very strong for business travellers and VFR. Besides this, customised trips are also on the rise,” he said. Simon strongly feels that MICE segment also has tremendous potential for growth. “The overall growth of MICE travellers from India to Florida is encouraging. This despite the US being is a long-haul destination,” he said.
