April busiest month for Israel Tourism recording approx 350,000 tourists arrivals

April 2017 was the busiest month for Israel ever since 1948 in terms of incoming tourism with nearly 350,000 tourists visiting the country contributing to an increase of almost 40% as compared to April 2015.

Between January to April this year, Israel recorded 1.09 million tourist entries, an increase of 26% as compared to the same period in 2016 (850,000). Out of the total, 964,000 tourists arrived by air, 24% more than the same period in 2016. Israel received 15,000 visitors from India during the first four months of this year thereby recording an increase of 26% as compared to same period in 2016.

Yariv Levin, Minister of Tourism, Government of Israel, said, “When there is clear policy, we see results. Every month, we are witnessing exceptional statistics that illustrate the progress we are spearheading in the tourism industry and its tremendous contribution to the Israeli economy and workforce. This important and exciting milestone is part of a positive trend that has been taking place over the last half year or more. I hope and believe that, with hard work, we will continue to reap the benefits of this investment.”
