Q'rius Connect P Ltd. (India) is set to organise a travel marketplace 'MICE CONNECT' 2019 in Sri Lanka on July 2 and 3 at the Hilton, Colombo. The event was previously scheduled for May 9 and 10, but was deferred in the aftermath of the terror attacks in the island nation on Easter Sunday of April 21.

Since the incident, Sri Lankan authorities have moved quickly to strengthen the security situation in Colombo and across the country and, according to security officials, every effort is being taken to ensure the safety of all visitors in the future. “I firmly believe that this show will be utmost beneficial to build and strengthen the relations between the Indian buyers and the hospitality brands from Sri Lanka who will be participating, and it will also be a confidence booster among all the participating sellers and buyers. I wish to urge everyone to be united and promote Sri Lanka as a beautiful destination as always,” said Nishant Gulliya, Managing Director and CEO, Q’rius Connect.

“Our first priority at the Hilton Colombo, and all our future properties throughout the country, has always been the security of our guests. To that end we have instituted immediate additional measures, including hand held and walk through scanners at all entrances to the hotels along with baggage scanners. Much of the security measures we have and are taking have long been in place across India,” said Christopher Zappia, Commercial Business Director of Hilton Sri Lanka.

“Sri Lanka is an amazing country, with a rich cultural heritage, endless natural beauty that is home to a welcoming, warm and generous people.  We hope to be able to quickly move on from the tragic events of the past few weeks to let people know that Sri Lanka remains a destination that should be at the top of everyone’s itinerary. To that end, we look forward to our partnership with Q’rius Connect in hosting this exciting event,” Zappia said.
