Global DMC Network by JTB hosts maiden roadshow in India

The Global DMC (Destination Management Company) Network by JTB recently hosted its maiden roadshow in India showcasing their network companies. Six DMCs from across the globe—Tumlare Destination Management, Europamundo Vacaciones, Kuoni Global Travel Services, Tour East Group, JTB Global Marketing & Travel Inc., and Lotte JTB participated at the event.

The multi-city roadshow was organised across New Delhi, Bengaluru and Mumbai. The purpose of the roadshow was to introduce the Group’s services to Indian travel agencies and to help them plan long-haul trips for their potential customers. At each roadshow, 200 agents were invited to participate in sessions with the six DMCs.

Speaking at the Mumbai leg of the event held at ITC Grand Central in Mumbai, Elena Bounimovitch, Global Marketing, Branding & PR of the Global DMC Network by JTB Group, said, “The Global DMC Network by JTB Group has a huge presence across the world through its member partners. We wanted to create a platform for our partners to directly communicate with the agents, through a roadshow.” She added, “As India is an upcoming market with huge potential, we decided to host the roadshow here. The roadshow was spread across 3 cities, starting off from Delhi, continuing on to Bengaluru, where we were overwhelmed by the response, and finally culminating in Mumbai. The concept behind the roadshow was to create brand awareness in India about the various destinations that we cater to, through our partners, over a networking lunch event.”

Aparna C Basumalik, Country Head, Europamundo Vacaciones, one of the six DMCs participating at the roadshow, said, “This is the first event undertaken by JTB to introduce them in India by showcasing their network companies. Europamondo is an integral part of JTB, so it was great to participate at this roadshow. It introduced JTB as a group and all the companies under its umbrella, followed by JTB’s commitment to India.” She added, “Europamundo is one of the largest JTB network companies, and the only budget tour company in Europe. Wework in the B2B market through our coach tours with 3 or 4 star accommodations, and sightseeing. This year, we have introduced Solo Country Tours for France, Switzerland, Germany, and Spain.”

Gaurav Mathur, Country Manager-India, Kuoni-Global Travel Services, added, “We are a B2B DMC, which specialises in all kinds of inbound solutions for Indians into Europe. The solutions that we provide are complete with facilities such as, hotel accommodation, sightseeing, and coaches. We have been operating in India for more than a decade now, and we are witnessing strong growth. We recently started our operations in South India, since then we have been receiving positive response from there."
