'WelcomHeritage Group records 35:65 as the Foreign: Indian guest ratio approximately'

We aim to expand our horizon in South & North-eastern regions of the country as these properties will help the brand expand its footprints all across India. There is a lot more to be explored. Jammu & Kashmir is not just scenic beauty but the culture and heritage of that city is an experience on its own said Sanjeev Nayar, General Manager, WelcomHeritage, in an interaction with TravelBiz Monitor.

We aim to expand our horizon in South & North-eastern region of the country as these properties will help the brand expand its footprints all across India. There is lot more to be explored. Though we have a reasonably strong presence in the North, as a strategic move, we aim to expand our horizon in South & North-eastern region of the country as these properties will help the brand expand its footprints all across India. Similarly Northeastern states have architecture marvels beyond just greenery and mountains. Its food, unseen places are worth mentioning.

Q Kindly help us to understand various price points across your properties?
With such a varied variety of hotels, maintaining an optimal pricing structure is definitely a challenge, especially when you have so many platforms to deal with. However, it is done by keeping in mind the aspects of seasonality, size of the property, location etc. For instance, in summers, hill station properties will have more guests as compared to hotels in Rajasthan or Central India; so the room tariff is adjusted accordingly. Apart from that, the pricing also differs based upon the guests’ length of stay etc.

Q Which brand of WelcomHeritage is the highest revenue generator?
WelcomHeritage has a bouquet of properties. Its properties are spread across length & breath of India making them season specific. While the hill properties do extremely well in the summers, the properties in the plains do well in the winters.

Q Please help us to understand the guest profile across the properties of WelcomHeritage?
We have had a fairly decent percentage of foreign tourists at our properties. However, we are also witnessing growth within Indian travellers, as they are getting keener on travelling to offbeat destinations and also knowing about our history and culture. The current ratio of Foreign: Indian guest is 35:65 approximately.

Another interesting thing which has been noticed by us in our hotels was the trend of family holidays, reunion etc. besides the conventional MICE and inbound segment.
