WebEngage, a multi-channel user engagement platform that enables online businesses to personalise engagement with their users across mobile, web, and email curated an Infograph which reveals the weekend get away patterns of the city's residents. The Infograph consists of the top metropolitan cities of the country and gives a clear idea about the preferences and the reasons for a weekend getaway of the residents of those cities.
WebEngage has over 33,000 clients from all over the Globe. In India, it is currently helping companies such as Make My Trip, Cleartrip and Yaatra.com to engage with its clients in a much more systematic and organised manner.
Avlesh Singh, Co-founder and CEO, WebEngage expressing his views on the Infograph said, “We think the findings are quite unique. Generally, we see data circulating around 'where' people can go. So we thought why not go into the details and understand 'how' do they get there. Depending on the age and city, we saw that the mode of travel changed drastically because these days the journey has become more important than the destination. It therefore becomes an interesting read as you can see in the infograph.
Singh added that we cater to many online travel biggies where we observed these insights and wanted to share the identified patterns with public.
Talking about the current travel trends Singh elaborated, “Weekend getaways are not only appealing but also gives a break from the hectic week at work. There is a rise in income parallel to the desire to see more places. People have started to travel solo and explore new places with no concrete plans. Currently for travellers, the itineraries aren't chalked in stone, the destinations are not the conventional and the resting places are more bed and breakfast inns than luxury hotels.”
