Rwanda Renaissance to focus on MICE and Religious Tourism for the Indian market

Rwanda Renaissance, an organisation mandated to promote trade, tourism and investments between India and Rwanda, for this year, will focus on MICE and Religious Tourism. This was informed by Clarence Fernandes, Chairman, Rwanda Renaissance. The organisation has released the January edition of “Rwanda Calling 2018” at the recently concluded International Conference on India Africa Partnerships held here at the Trident Hotel in Mumbai.

Speaking on the potential of Rwanda as a tourist destination to the Indian travellers, Fernandes said, “Rwanda has an interesting mix of tourism products which can be offered to Indian visitors. For this year, we shall focus on MICE and Religious Tourism as both have great potential here in India.”

Fernandes added, “Kigali has hosted an increasing number of International conferences and events, all of which reflect strong push by Rwanda Tourism in making the safe and spotlessly clean city a much sought after destination.” He affirms that good connectivity provided by Kenya Airways, Ethiopian Airlines and RwandaAir – Rwanda’s national carrier, Indian travellers can fly from Mumbai-Kigali in less than seven hours.

Simran Ahuja, Bollywood actress and Brand Ambassador for Rwanda’s Jordan Foundation – a Kigali-based NGO said, “Rwanda is a beautiful country. I had good experience during my recent visit, particularly to the Holy Land of Kibeho in the Southern Province and also enjoyed doing the Canopy Walk.”
