ICTT 2019 conference to explore ways to attract Chinese tourists to Kerala

Third International Conference on Tourism Technology (ICTT) to be held in Kochi on Sep 26 & 27
The third edition of the International Conference on Tourism Technology (ICTT) being organised in Kochi on September 26 and 27 by the Association of Tourism Trade Organisations, India (ATTOI) in collaboration with the Kerala government’s Department of Tourism, will deliberate ways to woo Chinese tourists to the South Indian state.

To be held at Le Meridian Kochi, the two-day event seeks to bring various stakeholders of travel and tourism on to a single platform and seeks to inspire them to improve policies to use technology for growing business to take tourism marketing to newer markets. As for the tour operators, ICTT 2019 can help magnify business with modern technology and form partnership with hotels and resorts around the highlighted tourism terminus. The conference will also attempt to impart knowledge on the use of digital and social media platforms for destination promotion.

ICTT 2019 comes in the backdrop of increased travel by the people of China across the globe, notes Anish Kumar, President, ATTOI. “From 13.1 crores in 2017, the projected figure of Chinese tourists abroad is 20 crores next year,” he noted.  “There are around 161 million new passport holders in China.  In order to woo the Chinese travellers, it is important to penetrate the Chinese social media,” Kumar said.

ICTT 2019 will host a session on ‘How to do social media tourism promotion to get Chinese tourists?’. Among others, Richard Matuzevich of Beijing-based World Tourism Cities Federation will participate in the session. Other topics for discussion at the conference include ‘Impact of influential marketing in tourism’  by Ellie Shedden, Australia; ‘Artificial intelligence and travel revolution’ by Hannes Losch from Germany, ‘Secrets of Search Engine Rankings’ by David Carollo from Singapore; ‘Tips to Become a Hood Digital Photographer’ by Shane Dallas from  Kenya;  ‘How to Create a Good Story about your Brand?’ by Jen Morilla from  USA;  ‘How to Create an Attention Grabbing Content/Blog’ by Heather Heuman from  USA);  ‘How to Use YouTube for Destination Promotion’ by Jessica Dante, UK;  and ‘Program Tips for Improving E-A-T SEO’ by Sean Patrick Si from Philippines.

Considering Job creation is the theme for this World Tourism Day, Kumar said that the conference will also discuss scope of job creation in travel start-ups.  The organisers are expecting a registration of 250 people for the third edition of the ICTT 2019.
