Guideline Travels’ recognises channel partners through - ‘The Deep Blue Bash’ - in Agra

Channel partners are the backbone of the travel & tourism industry, globally as well as in India. In fact, despite the advancement of technology, personal engagement continues to remain a key relationship building exercise. Recognising the contribution of their channel partners, Guideline Travels organised an offsite at ‘The Deep Blue Bash’ from October 5 to 7 in Agra at the ITC Mughal for fun-filled activities. Agents from metro cities as well as the Tier-II and III markets, especially from the Central and Northern belt of India, converged in Agra to celebrate the success of their cruise bookings. Established in 2000, Guideline Travels was appointed as the PSA (Preferred Sales Agent) for Star Cruises in 2001, and since then the association with the Genting Group has only matured.

According to Pradeep Saboo, CEO, Guideline Travels LLP, “We wanted a unique location and none of the main metros could offer that. We wanted our partners to enjoy sightseeing and be away from the routine life. Agra is centrally located from Delhi, Jaipur and Lucknow, which are few of our core markets, and partners from metro cities landed in Delhi to drive down to Agra. Central India, Punjab, Rajasthan and Delhi are our most important markets. The idea is to be able to meet all my partners under one platform and bond over recreational activities.”

As part of the two-day programme, Guideline Travels organised a range of outdoor activities for delegates to create unique opportunities for engagement. Moreover, delegates were taken to witness one of 7 Wonders of the World, Taj Mahal.

The inaugural night had a ‘Sufi’ theme with delegates turning out in Indian wear, while the valedictory evening had a Indo-Western set-up.

Talking about building the Crystal Cruises’ brand in India, he said that would require a separate team of agents since it’s a very niche product targeted at the ultra luxury clientele.

For Saboo, the association with Genting is almost like a family. “The relations have matured over the past 18 years and will continue to reap benefits.”

Naresh Rawal, Vice President – Sales, Genting Cruise Lines, thanked all the sub-agents for their support and commitment to establish the Star Cruises and the new Dream brands. He said that in 2019, SuperStar Virgo will move from Star Cruises to Dream Cruises in April 2019, and renamed Explorer Dream. The 2,000-guest ship will sail from Northern Asia next summer and then move to Australia and New Zealand for the winter season. He reiterated their commitment to grow the fly cruise market from India for families, special interest groups, weddings, honeymooners and incentive travel.

Talking about the Agra offsite, he said such events create opportunities for personal and interactive engagement.
