‘We strive to add high-quality properties in premium holiday destinations’

Gregg Anderson, Global Vice President, The Registry Collection (TRC), an elite exchange network of luxury vacation properties under RCI, was in Bengaluru recently to announce their partnership with Rosetta by Ferns, the luxury hospitality venture of Ferns Estates & Developers of Bengaluru. With this, Rosetta by Ferns will join a network of 240 luxury developments in 40 countries worldwide. TravelBiz Monitor spoke to Anderson about the luxury exchange programme and its scope in India.

Q How significant is the Registry Collection Exchange as a vertical and in the overall time share business of RCI?
Timeshare exchange and the timeshare industry have gone hand-in-hand almost since the industry’s inception, because developers realise that one of the keys to keeping their owners engaged and happy with their ownership over an extended time is to provide them with the ability to visit destinations around the world, rather than being limited to a single destination every year. After more than 40 years, RCI continues to fulfill that need annually, facilitating more than 1.8 million exchanges.

For developers in the leisure luxury resort market, RCI provides a distinct and superior exchange solution by offering The Registry Collection programme (TRC) to developers who are building higher end resorts with enhanced service levels. As the largest luxury exchange provider in the world, The Registry Collection offers a true competitive advantage.

The Registry Collection programme includes approximately 240 luxury leisure properties on six continents either available for exchange or under development. With nearly 50,000 members families, we help high-end developers to deliver superlative quality and service, and a world of possibilities to their owners.

Complimentary 24/7 travel concierge, guest certificates and access to premier travel and lifestyle companies are just a few of the additional benefits the sales team can present as added value to prospective buyers. This programme was established 17 years ago for luxury timeshare and over the years has evolved to include wholly owned resorts residences, condo hotels, and fractional yachts, as well as those most luxurious timeshare resorts.

Q Considering that what is the current presence of luxury exchange programme – Registry Collection – in India?
The Registry Collection is one of a kind globally, in terms of size and offerings and is the world’s largest luxury vacation programme. We have approximately 50,000 members worldwide and 240 affiliated resorts on the list while 40 additional properties are under construction or in the process of joining the elite, TRC club. In India, until 2019 we had three operating properties, The Rangers Reserve (Jim Corbett), Ananta (Udaipur), and Ramada (Kumbalgarh). The one under construction is The One at Khandala.

Q India is a land of luxury hospitality with lot of palaces-turned-hotels and home-grown hi-end luxury hotels in key tourist destinations. What kind of potential do you see in growing the affiliate programme of Registry Collection in India?
The Registry Collection’s objective is to provide a luxurious, comfortable and hassle-free experience to its esteemed members. Our goal is to grow, but do it in a deliberate and systematic way so we are bringing resorts in the destinations our members want to holiday in and with the right developers who share our vision for quality facilities and service delivery. The beauty of The Registry Collection programme from a portfolio perspective is that there is an opportunity for converted large palaces and forts to the type of luxury facility and experience our members are seeking out. Equally exciting is the ability to bring into our programme the small, luxury boutique properties that may only have a few, very well-appointed rooms. We strive to add to our members’ choices of availing high-quality properties in premium holiday destinations creating amazing vacation experiences and memories that will last a lifetime.

Q How significant is your signing of partnership with Rosetta by Ferns?
Rosetta by Ferns, one of India’s premier luxury vacation ownership companies, offers 5-star luxury resorts strategically located at some of the most beautiful places.
Rosetta by Ferns is working on their first resort in Sakleshpur, Karnataka. This 100-acre luxury project is nestled amidst the lush coffee plantations and comes with a choice of accommodation starting from spacious studios to one, two, and four-bedroom villas with private decks and garden spaces.
