Lemon Tree Hotels to invest INR 1000 cr for hotel development in the next two years

Lemon Tree Hotels limited will invest INR 1000 cr, to expand their portfolio in the next two years, said Patanjali Keswani, Chairman & Managing Director, Lemon Tree Hotels Limited. While speaking at the pre-launch of their brand-new Lemon Tree Premier Hotel in Mumbai, Keswani informed that a 670-key Convention Hotel is in the pipeline under their upscale brand Aurika at Mumbai International Airport Ltd (MIAL). The hotel will have 10,000 sq ft. ballroom, and 3,000 sq ft. conference hall. 

“We are spending almost INR 800cr to build the 670 keys hotel. The hotel is under construction and we have already invested INR 250cr on it,” he added. 

Keswani also informed that the brand plans to stay asset-light and focus on brand management. “This is our future, we want to be more and more asset-light, so we are going to find partners who can buy these assets for us, unlock capital, so that we can focus on brand management and development.”
Commenting on the Lemon Tree Premier Mumbai,  Keswani said, “Mumbai is a key market for us and a prominent destination both for business and leisure travellers. This property is strategically located near Mumbai Airport and in the midst of one of Mumbai's commercial/industrial hubs.”

With the opening of this new hotel Lemon Tree Premier Hotel, the hotel group’s overall inventory under operations reached 5800 rooms across 57 hotels spread over 34 cities.  This makes Lemon Tree the largest mid-market hotel chain in the country. “We are right now in 34 cities, and we plan to expand into 12 more cities by the end of this calendar year. With this we will have 6,500 rooms under our portfolio,” he added.

The 303 keys Lemon Tree Premier-Mumbai will offer rooms and suites equipped with world class amenities. The accommodation options will offer 5 types categories which include deluxe rooms, executive rooms, premier rooms, studio suites and executive suites. Additionally, the hotel will provide over 3,100 sq.ft of contemporary meeting space.

The hotel offers a 24x7 multi-cuisine coffee shop - Citrus Café; a bar- Slounge, and a pan-Asian restaurant - Republic of Noodles which will serve street food delicacies from Thailand, Vietnam, Singapore, Cambodia, Indonesia and Myanmar. Also, it houses a rejuvenating spa - Fresco, a well-equipped fitness centre and a refreshing swimming pool.
