Bloom Hotels to step up brand expansion across India in next two years

Opens new Bloom Hotel in the heart of Lutyens’ Delhi

Bloom Hotel Group will be stepping up their brand expansion across cities in India with a target to reach at least 100 hotels in the next couple of years’ time.  The hotel company currently manages nine mid-market properties in India with over 500 rooms under their management in cities like Delhi NCR, Bengaluru, Goa.  The hotel group has opened their third hotel in national capital Delhi and the fourth one in the National Capital Territory of Delhi recently.  The 38-room mid-market hotel located in the heart of Lutyens’ Delhi on Janpath Lane has been turned around in 100 days by the hotel company after taking the property on e-auction from the NDMC.

 Talking to Travel Biz, Tom Welbury, Vice President – Strategy, Bloom Hotel Group said that the company has been focusing on “brand building” so far and will now “moving to the high growth” stage, having “proven the model” in the last seven odd years.  

 Citing the way Bloom has been able to fly its flag in the heart of Delhi, turning around the hotel in less than 100 days flat beautifully with innovative concepts to excite guests, Welbury stated that the “Tide is turning and the Bloom is on the rise.” He said that with the location like Central Delhi will give the brand a new brand visibility and access to a new set of guests.  “We are absolutely open to all sorts of locations now,” he said.

 Claiming Bloom has played a key role in  “reinventing” the mid-market hotel product in India, Welbury said that they were the first mid-market hotel to offer free hi-speed internet to guests and first one to introduce trademark 'Cloudbed’ sleep experience in the mid-market hotel space.  He said that with their innovative and efficient model, they were able to deliver a “winning” mid-market model for all associated with Bloom, such as Guests, Property owners and the Associates.  “We are location obsessed and quality obsessed.  That is why we have been able to achieve 95% guest satisfaction and over 35% repeat guest business,” Welbury said.

Bloomrooms at Janpath has five categories of rooms starting from the base category Standard King Rooms to Signature Suite, Standard Twin, Standard King and Junior Suite.  The hotel has a Café-cum-all day diner, Capital, and Lounge area on three floors with free Mini-bar. 

When asked about funding, Welbury said that Bloom is “adequately funded” to take it future expansion goals forward.
