New Delhi-based Skylark Institute of Travel was set up with a seed capital of Rs 60-70 lakh in February 2015 by Vipan Sharma, Managing Director, Air Cruise Travels and Preeti Anand, a certified IATA Instructor. In due course of time, Anand, Dean, Skylark Institute of Travel plans to enter into foreign affiliations and tie-ups with top overseas universities to provide students with the best education platform. Five years down the line, Anand aims to establish Skylark Institute of Travel as a university in all key metros cities of India. Sharma is the CEO of the Institute.
Anand said, “With in-depth professional expertise and being backed by a travel company, we are constantly in touch with tour operators, travel agents and the airline industry. Hence, we design our courses as per the industry requirements known to us and will ensure 100 per cent assistance in job placement. Besides, we are actively looking at getting affiliations from renowned overseas universities. Thereafter, we also wish to penetrate in the key metro cities of India and launch Skylark Institute of Travel as a university.”
With Skylark Institute of Travel we aim to cater to the ever-growing demand for trained and qualified human resource, asserted Anand. The Institute currently offers a 12-month programme in Travel and Tourism Management, a six-month course in Airfares/Ticketing and GDS (Galileo), a six-month training programme for air hostess and flight steward, and a one-month course in GDS (Galileo) basic/advanced, informed Anand.
