India’s Domestic Air Traffic Report for November 2017

The domestic air travel demand surged nearly 17%, recording 10.48 million passengers in November 2017 as compared 8.96 million in November 2016, according to the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA). SpiceJet delivered the highest OTP at 81.9% from four major metro airports, as per the report. Besides, SpiceJet also clocked a seat factor of over 90% for the 32nd consecutive month at 95.5% in November 2017. TravelBiz Monitor presents highlights.

Passenger Growth

Passengers carried by domestic airlines during Jan-Nov 2017 were 1059.34 lakhs as against 903.36 lakhs during the corresponding period of previous year thereby registering a growth of 17.27%

Passenger Complaints during the month
During November 2017, a total of 716 passenger related complaints had been received by the scheduled domestic airlines. The number of
complaints per 10,000 passengers carried for the month of Nov 2017 has been around 0.68. The airline-wise details are as follows:

On-Time Performance (Scheduled Domestic Airlines)
On-Time Performance (OTP) of scheduled domestic airlines has been computed for four metro airports viz. Bengaluru, Delhi, Hyderabad and Mumbai. Airline-wise OTP at four metro airports for the month of Nov 2017 is as follows:
