India’s Domestic Air Traffic for September 2016 by DGCA

Domestic airlines carried 23.17% more passengers between January to September 2016 as compared with the same period last year, according to data compiled and analysed by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA). TravelBiz Monitor presents highlights.

Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) analysed the traffic data submitted by various domestic airlines for September 2016. According to the report prepared by the DGCA for the same, domestic airlines registered a y-o-y growth of 23.17% in terms of passenger carried during January to September. The passenger load factor in September almost remained constant compared to previous month primarily due to the end of tourist season. The overall cancellation rate of scheduled domestic airlines for September was 0.42%. During September, a total of 728 passenger related complaints had been received by the scheduled domestic airlines. The number of complaints per 10,000 passengers carried for the month of September were 0.9.



On-Time Performance (Scheduled Domestic Airlines)
On-Time Performance (OTP) of scheduled domestic airlines has been computed for four metro airports viz. Bengaluru, Delhi, Hyderabad and Mumbai.

Domestic air passengers during September recorded 82.30 lakh as compared to 66.66 lakh same month last year there by registering a 23.46% growth.
