India Hotel Review Report - 2017

STR and Horwath HTL have unveiled the India Hotel Review Report - 2017 in which Occupancy (Occ), Average Daily Rate (ADR) and Revenue per Available Room (RevPAR) were examined across 13 key markets of India, which carry 68% of total chain-owned/managed/affiliated inventory. TravelBiz Monitor presents highlights of the report.

India Major Cities-YoY RevPAR Change

Key Markets
Occ growth to 75%; 3.4% ADR growth and 5.4% RevPAR. A strong performance on the face of it; but it remains underwhelming.

Delhi & NCR Others
69% Occ at about USD 100 (got there only because the Rupee got stronger) is what the capital city reports. Other areas of NCR have Occ at 60% and ADR marginally above 4k reflect softness in demand growth.

A good year. Occ up to 68.8%; ADR with INR 240+; and 1 0.6% RevPAR.

A prolonged struggle between supply and demand growth. Over 5,600 rooms added since 2010; demand has grown by 3,200 rooms per night. City-wide Occ marginally declined to 62.2%; it has remained flattish for 3 years now. City-wide rates grew 3% in 2017, but have been flattish for 4 years now.
