Brussels Airlines to discontinue Mumbai service from Jan 7, 2019

Belgium-based Brussels Airlines is set to discontinue its service to Mumbai from January 7, 2019 due to economic unviability. The airline started its Mumbai-Brussels route in March 2017, venturing for the first time into the Indian subcontinent. After an initial five-weekly service, the airline added a sixth frequency in the winter of 2018. The flight service does however not deliver the anticipated results and Brussels Airlines has therefore taken the decision to withdraw from the route and use the flight capacity to reinforce its existing African network, its key intercontinental market.

However, passengers will continue to have travel options via Frankfurt, Munich and Zurich with connections from the Lufthansa Group airlines’ Lufthansa and SWISS.
