Delhi-based Equator Voyagers Pvt Ltd is planning to launch two new branch offices in Bengaluru and Chennai by next year. The company is in talks with potential partners to either launch a franchise office or it might plan to operate in-house as well. The company’s website is also under development and will be launched in the coming months.
The company majorly specialises in MICE travel to outbound destinations. Until now, Equator Voyagers has been doing inbound leisure bookings on word of mouth basis. Now with Ministry of Tourism’s certification onboard, going forward, the company plans to organise its inbound vertical and operate in a full-fledged manner, informed Amit Watts, Director, Equator Voyagers Pvt Ltd.
Among the travel trends, Watts highlighted that among leisure travellers going with family or on honeymoon, there is an increasing demand for self drive tours especially at destinations such as South Africa. “In the MICE travel domain, customers want to cover beyond the regular destinations of Sri Lanka, Thailand, Beijing and Shanghai. Instead, potential destinations such as Portugal, Bosnia, Eastern Europe and Chengdu are getting popular. There is a growing demand for new destinations with authentic experiences,” he said.
Watts is the General Secretary of the ETAA North India Chapter and as a team, he pointed out that the chapter is aiming to boost membership and tie-ups with tourism boards.
